Ohio EPA Grants Recycling and Litter Prevention Grant to Keep Ohio Beautiful
Keep Ohio Beautiful was awarded $40,000 through the annual Ohio EPA Recycling & Litter Prevention Grant for the purchase of Litter Cleanup Supplies for our Keep Ohio Beautiful statewide affiliate network. Each Ohio affiliate will receive litter cleanup supplies including garbage bags, litter grabbers, gloves, and safety vests. Keep Ohio Beautiful continues to support our local affiliates during the Great American Cleanup of Ohio through grants and other in-kind donations utilizing our affiliates grassroots level of volunteering as we keep Ohio beautiful.
Local governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations throughout northeast Ohio are receiving more than $2 million this year in grants from Ohio EPA to implement recycling, litter prevention, market development, and scrap tire recycling programs. Statewide, Ohio EPA is issuing more than $6.3 million in grant funding to 99 recipients, with more than $3.7 million specifically for community and litter prevention programs.
All local clean-up efforts involve the work of volunteers and take place on public property. Some of these grants tie into Governor Mike DeWine’s statewide litter campaign, A Little Litter is a Big Problem, prioritizing and promoting the conversation around litter in Ohio.
