2018 Celebrating Keep Ohio Beautiful Awards Application
Keep Ohio Beautiful will be honoring affiliates, youth groups, schools, civic and non-profit groups, businesses and local communities in nine different categories at a statewide luncheon to honor environmental efforts across the State of Ohio.
The awards will be based on all environmental projects completed between June 1, 2017 and August 1, 2018. Due on Thursday, October 19, 2018
Awards will be presented on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 Annual Meeting & Awards Program
CATEGORIES
The Keep Ohio Beautiful Community Award
An award will be presented to an Ohio community for its overall environmental program (public awareness/adult education; education in schools; cleanup; recycling; and beautification & community greening). There will be awards presented to communities within the following population categories:
Less than 25,000 25,001 – 150,000 150,001 and up
An award will be presented to recognize youth group or school efforts in promoting a cleaner and more beautiful environment through cleanups, beautification, recycling, etc. There will be awards given in two age categories:
Elementary (K-6) Secondary (7-12)
An award will be presented to a nonprofit, civic, or community organization for its efforts in environmental education programs, litter control, beautification, recycling, etc.
An award will be presented to a business or industry who has demonstrated substantial efforts to enhance the environment through reducing, reusing, recycling, and beautification within the business / industry and their community.
An award will be presented to an affiliate, neighborhood, school, or other group for outstanding cleanup, beautification or recycling efforts during the Great American Cleanup / State Roadways Cleanup.
America Recycles Day Award
An award will be presented to an affiliate, neighborhood, school, or other group for outstanding cleanup, beautification or recycling efforts during the America Recycles Day.
An award will be presented to recognize law enforcement personnel who are successful at enforcing Ohio’s litter and illegal dumping laws.
In honor of our Past President, Dan Weisenbach, this award recognizes an affiliate board member who embodies the drive & spirit of being a volunteer board / committee member.
